Debbie Jowett of Eclipse Quarter and Paint Horses is counting her lucky (and gorgeous) stars this breeding season! This home to double registered stallion Etched In The Stars is also home to a lot of gorgeous, talented broodmares that are producing some great babies.

“I just added another broodmare to my mares,” shares Debbie. This beautiful 17 hand bay mare is by the 5 x world champion Artful Investment, who is the sire of numerous World Champions and 261 performance horses. Arts Sweetheart has already produced a gorgeous filly in 2012, Straight to My Heart. Another one of her “star” mares is Blushing Jane (pictured right) who has fantastic all around babies.

Other mares in Debbie’s band include a few Thoroughbreds: Chris, a 16.2 hh mare who has an impressive racing career winning $80,000 on the track under owner AJ Froyt. “This is this years baby 2 weeks old,” says Debbie. “We named her A Star Dirty Dancing, and she has all the moves. Very athletic.” Her other Throroughbred mare, Runnwitsozzors. Is a 17.1 hh gentle giant. “She also has big soft moving babies!” exclaims Debbie.

She Is A Crafty Dame “is a special mare and just lovely to be around,” gushes Debbie. “”Crafty” has amazing heart.” This talented mare is a Winner of the Foxhunter Tmber Series in VA (VA steeplechase series), beating out all the geldings. The ONLY mare to do it in 22 years! That same year she also won the VA Leading Mare Over Fences for the VSA. She has Seattle Slew, Mr Prostpector, Northern Dancer and Bold Ruler in her bloodlines. “She will have her first foal in 2014 looking forward to this great cross!” exclaims Debbie.

DGS Indyvisiable is by Indian Artifacts and out of a Skys Blue Boy mare.  She is 16’3  and has had 2 foals, including Debbie’s next up and coming stallion Staring My Boy Toy, who is to hit the show circuit later this year and his full sister  Staring My Leading Lady. “Both are very big movers and soft movers and want to be in your pocket,” says Debbie of the pair.

Another star mare includes Steady Miss Magey, by Rocked in Steady, out of Zippos Bay Lady (Leading Broodmare list), and who has had a point earner with every foal, including “One Hot Deal ” Swiss National Champion Junior AND Amateur Western Pleasure Horse. In addition to those titles, she reached the title of the Reserve Champion in Junior Trail ,and the bronze medal in Amateur Showmanship at Halter.  With these four medals, she was the most successful junior horse of the Swiss championship and the second best horse (numbers of medals) over all disciplines!

“I would like to thank the many mare owners so far that have bred to Etched In the Stars this year, both APHA and AQHA mares!” exclaims Debbie. “There have been lots of proving broodmares breeding to “Regis” this year: World Champion, ROM , Superior  producers… I would like to thank them and wish them all good luck in the show pen with their babies.”
