SHT-team-1 July 2nd, 2017 Afternoon, And that’s a wrap…. All the awards have been given out and the checks have been handed out as we bring our live coverage from Michigan to a close. We thank Tom and Dominique Powers for again entrusting PleasureHorse.comAwards-2 to deliver the results and news coverage from the show. For over 20 years we have shared and promoted this show and it’s a favorite of ours to attend. Thank you to the exhibitors, vendors, staff and volunteers for a wonderful week.

See you next year as the maiden sale stake horses compete for a guaranteed purse of $50,000!

 

Maiden Stakes -2July 2nd, 2017,  Yesterday saw the crowning of the premier class here at the Powers with the 2YO Maiden Sales Stakes Western Pleasure. The competition was so stiff that even the judges couldn’t choose just one winner and co champions were crowned. . Erin Lieurance (showing for Jeff Cochran) and Live N It Up (By Red White N Good) split the $35,000 purse with Jay Starnes and Why Don’t U Kiss This (By Kissing The Girls) , owned by Becky Crider. Lieurance received the $3000 Harris Challenge bonus for riding to her win in a Harris saddle. Lieurance was declared the winner under the tie breaker judge and takes home the beautiful and coveted Alan Parker memorial bronze.Maiden Stakes -1

 

 The limited division check for $10,000 was won by Ricky Noiseux on the very pretty mare Maybeline owned by Michael Rapp. Noiseux was also riding in a Harris saddle and took home a $1000 bonus from the Harris Challenge.  Reserve champion was a gorgeous bay names NoDoubtImAChipmunk owned by Jean Ann Jordan and shown by Jamie Murrow who took home a check for $3,500

The annual NSBA Crisis fundraising BBQ was held following the classes and before the sale and a great time was had by all those in attendance. The Yearling Sale saw 51 of the best yearlings in the nation sold with a sale top five average of $28, 700.

Sunday morning, the sun is shining as the Tom Powers Triple Challenge Futurity draws to a close. Walk/Jog competitors are dazzling in their beautiful outfits as the ride like the pros and the Limited Non Pro 2YO class was very deep.  As we prepare to head home, keep an eye out for additional results, photos and videos to come as we recap the 2017 Tom Powers Futurity.

The 37th Tom Powers Triple Challenge Futurity runs from June 28th-July 2nd, and Pleasurehorse.com is once again excited and honored to bring full coverage from the event.
