Congratulations to Congress Masters 2 YO Western Pleasure Champion, VS Lady In Red, owned by Kristen Galyean and ridden by Gil Galyean, and Masters 2YO Hunter Under Saddle Champion, A Boy Named HOO owned by Tammy Dyer and ridden by Beth Case!  The Masters Limited 2YO Western Pleasure was won by Wade Parks and One Good Cuervo.  Al Fool Ya and Kristy Starnes took home the win in the Masters Limited 2YO Hunter Under Saddle.  Between the Hunter Under Saddle and Western Pleasure classes, a live auction was held featuring several one-of-a-kind items donated by Shorty’s Caboy Hattery, Berry Fit, Carolina Moon, and Lagrange Leather.  Over $54,000 was raised benefitting Nellie’s Catwalk for Kids, an organization that provides support for pediatric cancer patients and their families.

The Amateur Western Pleasure Congress Championship was captured by none other than the dynamic duo of Darcy Reeve and A Certain Vino.  Reeve and Vino keep loping into the history books with adding another Congress Championship to their already-elite resume.  Jenna Dempze and Rewind and Repeat were Reserve Congress Champions with Sharnai Thompson and Rock County Kid taking 3rd.  Congratulations all!

Congratulations to Angela Fox and Lookin Good In Red on their Congress Championship in the NSBA and Southern Belle Two Year-Old Limited Non-Pro Western Pleasure Stakes!  Not only did they win, but they did so unanimously, placing first under ALL judges.  Angela is featured on page 62 of this month’s Show Horse Today in our month feature “Get To Know.” Click here to learn more about this lovely lady!  Congratulations Angela!

Western Pleasure superstar, A Certain Vino, continued to add to his already-legendary resume Saturday, by winning the Non-Pro Western Pleasure Stakes with Darcy Reeve, and later that evening, the Open Maturity Western Pleasure Stakes with trainer, Karen Hornick.  The classes were chock-full of some of the best western pleasure horses in the industry like One Lazy Investment, Huntin Big Dreams, Its A Southern Thing, and Bestseatinthehouse, just to name a few.  

 

 

 

My Invitations R HotPleasurehorse.com wants to congratulate Adria Smith, of Seaside Farms, and My Invitations R Hot, on their TOP 5 finish in the SBB Three Y/O Non Pro Hunter Under Saddle Stakes Limited and TOP 10 in the NSBA Three Y/O Non Pro Hunter Under Saddle Stakes Limited!  My Invitations R Hot also placed in the TOP 5 in Junior Hunter Under Saddle (both AQHA and NSBA) with Trisha Yamber in the irons.  My Invitations R Hot is sired by the great These Irons Are Hot, who is owned by Seaside Farms and stands at Gumz Farms.  Congratulations Adria!

 

DSC_1601The Quarter Horse Congress made waves earlier this year when they announced they would open stakes and futurity classes to other breeds.  On October 14th, Sara Simons and Rock My Motion wrote their names in the history books by becoming the first ApHC team to take home a Congress championship in the NSBA Maturity $10,000 Limited Horse Open Western Pleasure Stakes.  The 5 year-old gelding is owned by Janis and Jordan Semmelmayer, and is sired by Hot Chocolatey Chip and out of Shes Radical (by Radical Rodder).  Congratulations all!  Click here for full results.

On Wednesday, October 14, the Quarter Horse Congress held a ribbon-cutting ceremony in honor of the new Buckeye Agriculture Complex (Adequan Barn). The new addition is a $15 million barn and arena for the Ohio Expo Center.

 

 

 

 

 

Invy 2014 Congress honor

Invitation Only is named AQHA’s All Time Leading Sire at a Special Ceremony during the 2014 All American Quarter Horse Congres

The 2015 All American Quarter Horse Congress has kicked off and will run its 3+ week schedule, maintaining its title as “The largest single-breed horse show in the world.”  With over 21,000 entries, attracting more than 650,000 people to the Columbus area, the show generates $200 million for the central Ohio economy.  Attendees come from every US state, and several foreign countries.  Nearly $3 million is given away in cash and prizes, including trucks and trailers, trophy saddles, and sterling silver buckles. 

Along with classes and events that have been showcased at the Congress for many years, this year new classes have been added and some changes have been made to existsing classes:

 Several Equestrians With Disabilities classes (Showmanship, Trail, Horsemanship and Western Pleasure)

Congress Masters Western Pleasure Futurity - with a guaranteed $30,000 to the winner is now open to AQHA, APHA, ApHA, ABRA, IBHA, PHBA and Jockey Club, and 100% of the $3,500 entry fee is paid back.

Congress Masters Hunter Under Saddle Futurity – with a guaranteed $15,000 to the winner is now open to AQHA, APHA, ApHA, ABRA, IBHA, PHBA and Jockey Club, and 100% of the $2,500 entry fee is paid back.
