Sun Circuit Set to Amaze for 2015
Arizona Quarter Horse Association’s Sun Circuit 2015 announces exciting new changes to its lineup. The 2015 show will begin a day earlier with AQHA cutting running two times on Friday, January 23. This change should allow for much earlier completion times in the Markel Insurance arena through out the remainder of the show.
All new for 2015 will be the Rogers Heaven Sent Ranch $2,500-added Junior Bridle Spectacular, Rogers Heaven Sent Ranch $2,500-added Senior Bridle Spectacular and the Farnam $2,000-added Amateur Bridle Spectacular for cow horse exhibitors who will compete in herd work, rein work and fence work. See details on the bridle spectacular classes online at www.suncircuit.com.
At 7 p.m. on January 23 in the Markel Insurance arena, AQHA Professional Horsemen Bob Avila and Al Dunning will host a free 90-minute clinic titled, “Position it’s Not the One Thing, It’s the Only Thing.” These great horsemen will give their combined insight attained through many years of working cattle. The Farnam free clinic series will also host free clinics scheduled during the show by prominent horsemen and -women Laurel Walker Denton for ranch horse pleasure; Robin and Jenny Frid, showmanship and horsemanship; Matt Mills, reining; Bruce Vickery, trail; Bruce Walquist, horsemanship; and Dr. Dave Frisbee. Check the schedule online at www.suncircuit.com.
The Johns, Tobin and Searles families will kick off the show January 24 with a free welcome dinner for all exhibitors to enjoy. While attending the party, you may get a chance to watch high school rodeo exhibitors in the first-ever Sun Circuit combined National High School Rodeo Association and AQHA youth cow horse class. The high school rodeo cow horse classes will run January 24-25. Take a little extra time to shop the array of vendors in the climate-controlled Markel Insurance arena.
