Exhibitors at the AQHA West Level 1 Championships saddled up their American Quarter Horses on April 19 for the opening day of competition at the South Point Equestrian and Events Center. The show kicked off at 8 a.m. with Level 1 youth performance halter mares in the South Point Arena and Level 1 amateur showmanship in the Priefert Pavilion.

The AQHA West Level 1 Championships, running April 19-23, features Rookie classes, sponsored by B&W Trailer Hitches, and Level 1 classes. These two levels of AQHA competition are designed for everyone from the beginner to the minimally accomplished competitors, respectively. The show offers a variety of events and activities for competitors, friends, family and spectators to take part in throughout the show, including free Ride the Pattern clinics taught by AQHA Professional Horsemen.
