Going two for two when it comes to world championships is an impressive feat for any horse, but it was extra special for Mark and Patty Voegele of Pilot Point, Texas, at the 2013 APHA World Championship Show. The Voegeles own Intensions, a 2010 red roan overo stallion crowned the 2013 world champion in Open and Amateur 3-Year-Old Stallions. Those two wins bring Intensions’ record to six world championships, which helped cement him as perhaps the winningest halter stallion in APHA World Show history.

Tim Finkenbinder showed Intensions to his fourth consecutive open halter world championship .

Even more impressive, perhaps, is that Intensions has won Open world championships as a weanling, yearling, 2-year-old and 3-year-old—a remarkable study in consistency for the homebred stallion. Previously, he’s also won a world championship with Mark in Amateur 2-Year-Old Stallions and a reserve world championship in Amateur Yearling Stallions.

“Just to raise one and have him do this—we are really blessed,” Mark said.

By My Intensions (QH), Intensions is one in a long line of champions out of Barlinkislebeastar. The dam of 10, Barlinkislebeastar has also produced seven point-earners as well as two additional world championship titleholders: Isle Be Approved and Steal N The Hearts.
