2013 Congress Update: Patterns, Big Events, and What’s New!

Putting up Congress bannerWe are just days away from the largest single-breed horse show in the world, the All American Quarter Horse Congress! Three weeks of horse showing, special futurity classes, demonstrations, clinics, shopping, major events, fair food, and too much to fit into just one post!

New to this year’s Congress, a new futurity! The Congress Breeder’s Challenge Halter Futurity will grace the arenas this year. Also not to miss: October 10th is Cutting Event, which features the NCHA Mercuria World Series of Cutting and the exciting Bridleless Cutting class. PBR is back at the Congress on October 11th, and the Weaver Leather Freestyle Reining will wow spectators on the 12th. This includes special performances by Ohio’s own Shawn Flarida (the first million dollar reining rider), and two time Congress champion and first woman to win the Road to the Horse, Stacy Westfall.

On October 14, the AQHA Political Action Committee is hosting a fundraiser at the VIP Room. Bob Gibbs (OH 7th) is the invited guest. The AQHA PAC supports political candidates who lend their voice to the matters important to the horse industry and dedicated themselves to strengthening the agriculture industry across the country.
