Happy Thursday!  Throwback Thursday to be exact!  Today, we’re going through the stallion archives and bring you the great stallion, Impulsions.

Impulsions was a 1987 chestnut stallion by the great sire, The Invester.  Brad and Kelli McCamy purchased the stallion as a yearling, and showed him to a world championship in 2 year-old western pleasure in 1989.  The following year, he continued his winning ways, racking up championships in the Solid Gold Futurity and at the Quarter Horse Congress.

When he was retired, he had a world championship, futurity and Congress championships, a Performance ROM, and NSBA earnings of over $29,000 on his resume.

His first foal crop included A Sudden Impulse, who took home the 1994 world championship in Junior Western Pleasure, and became a standout sire in his own right.  Impulsions is also known for siring other exceptional horses like Big N Rich, Frosty Impulse, Impulsability, Impulsed By Gold, Impulse Eyed, Impulsive Lite, Lope On In, Ona Good Impulse, and many more.

Impuslions was inducted into the NSBA Hall of Fame in 2004, and sadly passed away in 2011 from complications associated with laminitis and an old stifle injury.  However, his legacy and bloodlines live on as many of his sons and grandsons have become successful producers along with his daughters and granddaughters.
