The Twelfth Day of Competition at AQHA World Brings Two Trail Champions!
JUNIOR TRAIL – AQHA Professional Horseman Buddy Fisher of Abilene, Texas, showed the American Quarter Horse PF Put It In Park owned by Sue Guelker of Colorado City, Texas. The2007 sorrel gelding, sired by Huntin For Chocolate and out of Flashy Fanny Parker, was bred by Charles and Jeannie Pircher LLC of Rio Medina, Texas. In the junior trail class, 58 entries competed for world champion honors and a purse of $31,739.92.
SENIOR TRAIL – Jason Gilliam of Greensburg, Indiana, showed the American Quarter Horse Design By Leaguer owned by Janet Gunn of Greensburg, Indiana. The 1993 black gelding, sired by Ina Different League and out of Sweet Booger, was bred by Melinda Minnis of Sanger, Texas. In the senior trail class, 97 entries competed for world champion honors and a purse of $53,082.28.
World champions received a prize package that included a custom-designed gold trophy, Montana Silversmiths buckle, specially designed logoed jacket, courtesy of Cripple Creek Outerwear, a WeatherBeeta embroidered blanket, neck wreath, a medallion and 100 pounds of Nutrena feed.
The AQHA World Show is the pinnacle event for American Quarter Horse owners and exhibitors around the world, who must qualify for the event by earning a predetermined number of points to compete in each of the classes representing halter, English and western disciplines. More than 3,590 entries from the United States, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Italy, Mexico, United Kingdom and the Netherlands are competing for 97 world championships at this year’s event, November 2-17 at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City.
