good I will beOur most sincere condolences and prayers go to Sandra Morgan, owner and Stephen Stephens, Breeding Manager at Dry River Ranch on the loss of the magnificent stallion, Good I Will Be.

A photo had been posted to “Willy’s” Facebook page, explaining that the stallion had not been feeling well. He had undergone veterinary care, and had been at Texas A&M University Veterinary Hospital. He had to undergo surgery for a kidney stone, but ultimately did not recover and had to be humanely euthanized.

“We are grateful for the amazing team of veterinarians in Weatherford, Texas and at Texas A&M University that did all that was humanly possible for him. Willy was an amazingly stoic animal, and a true champion until the end.”

Willy, by Good Machine and out of Miss Trophy Dash (Hotrodders Jet Set), was a 2x World Champion in Performance Halter, as well as NSBA World Champion in Junior and Amateur Hunter Under Saddle. This 2004 stallion was purchased from Rita Crundwell’s dispersal auction in 2012, where he sold for $775,000. View sale results here.

It is never easy to lose one of the greats, and our hearts go out to the family.
