New court documents were filed Tuesday in the case of Rita A. Crundwell, who may have started stealing from the city of Dixon nearly two years before opening the secret bank account which she used to filter money.

In a story by Saukvalley.com, Crundwell “took at least $25,000 from Dixon’s Sister Cities Association account between August 1988 and May 1990.”

Prosecutors will seek a stiffer sentence for Crundwell, and will present details to a federal judge at Crundwell’s sentencing Thursday, February 14, where the 60-year-old faces a prison sentence of up to 20 years for wire fraud.
