Congratulations to our very own Gabrielle “Gabe” Sasse on her commencement from The University of Findlay’s Equine program!  Graduating magna cum laude on May 4, 2013, Gabe now holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a dual major in Western Equestrian Studies and Equine Business Management.  She’s very eager to start her career with and Show Horse Today Magazine as our Communications Coordinator.

After finishing high school in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Gabe says the Findlay application was the only one she completed, “because, I knew that is where I wanted to be.” During her four years at The University of Findlay, Gabe was varsity Western and Huntseat IHSA in 2010-2011, was High Point rider at finals spring semester her freshmen year, created and managed the western farm’s Facebook page, and won fourth place in Findlay’s Clark Bradley Western Pleasure Futurity final.  Students choose and break out pleasure prospects during their senior year, and Gabe made her choice with KM Best To Be Sweet, a gorgeous filly by RL Best Of Sudden out of Shes Sweet Talking by Sweet Talking Chip.   “Mae” sold to a wonderful home during Findlay’s annual Spring Sale.  Gabe culminated her college experience, during her final semester, with project horses ranging from pleasure prospect Mae, a warmblood mare that she started over fences and a reiner.  “It was the best of every world!” she grins.

During her “in-the-ring” time, Gabe enjoys showing her two quarter horses Guccis Outlaw, in the all around, and The Last Nickel in hunter events.  Following a road trip last month across the country with one of her girlfriends, Gabe plans a move to Okemos, Michigan, where she’ll join her beau, Kevin, as he finishes law school at MSU.

Gabe has been on our team in a part-time role for more than a year, so some of you may have already worked with her.  If not, she looks forward to getting to know all of our customers, partners and many of our community members.  In addition to being involved with our and websites and Show Horse Today Magazine, Gabe will also be working closely with many of our customers helping them with their website content and social media marketing.  Having grown up with technology, and being a very proficient social media user, Gabe is a tremendous resource for any of our customers who could use some help writing, posting and getting their information out on the web in a more consistent way.  She’ll be at some of the major events we cover, like the Tom Powers Triple Challenge Futurity and the All American Quarter Horse Congress, so be sure to say “Hi” when you see her.
