American Quarter Horses Score at Equitana
Europe’s reining and cutting stars lit up Equitana March 19 in Essen, Germany, at the world fair of equestrian sports. The night’s headlining events were the BÖCKMANN Reining Cup and the IDEXX Cutting Cup, and the high-scoring American Quarter Horses were recognized in both cups.
In the BÖCKMANN Reining Cup, Rudi Kronsteiner and Whizoom (Topsail Whiz-Dun It The Hard Way by Hollywood Dun It) scored a 144, earning the prestigious cup title. And as the high-scoring American Quarter Horse, Whizoom also earned the AQHA high-point trophy. Whizoom, a 2005 bay stallion, is owned by Jenny Nixdorf of Austria and was bred by Charlotte Decoster of Dallas.
On the cutting side of things, Gianluca Munarini of Italy and Whats Up Doc Boon (Peptoboonsmal-SR Docs Serenade by Doc O’Lena) claimed the IDEXX Cutting Cup win and the AQHA high-point trophy. Whats Up Doc Boon, a 2008 sorrel stallion, is owned by Livio De Michiel of France and was bred by Rudari Massimo of Italy.
