2012 Congress Entry Materials Now Available

Entry materials for the 46th annual All American Quarter Horse Congress, held October 5-28, 2012 at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus, Ohio have been mailed.

Entries for the 2012 Quarter Horse Congress must be postmarked no later than August 25th to avoid late fees. Entries may either be completed online at www.oqha.com/aaqhc or mailed to:

Again this year, OQHA will be accepting entries for the All American Quarter Horse Congress online. Participants will be required to register, providing your name and a valid e-mail address to begin the process. Payment will be accepted online via a secure, third party vendor. Horse Health Requirements
All horses entering the grounds for the 2012 Quarter Horse Congress must have a negative EIA (Coggins) test within the last twelve months. Horses that originate from outside the state of Ohio must also provide a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection made out within the past 30 days before the opening date of the Congress (October 5, 2012).

OQHA is NOT requiring a negative blood test for Equine Piroplasmosis for the 2012 All American Quarter Horse Congress.

New Classes
A total of 43 classes have been added to the 2012 All American Quarter Horse Congress, including several stakes and numerous NSBA dual-approved classes.

New stakes classes include NSBA Non-Pro Western Yearling Longe Line, NSBA Non-Pro English Yearling Longe Line, Open Yearling Halter Stallions Stakes (open and limited divisions), Open Yearling Halter Geldings Stakes (open and limited divisions) and Open Yearling Halter Fillies Stakes (open and limited divisions).

In addition, the Southern Belle Breeder’s has added limited divisions to all of their stakes classes.

The final day of the Congress, Sunday, October 28th, will feature a brand new event: Cowboy Mounted Shooting. Events will be held in both the Celeste Center and Buckeye Arena and are expected to be a large draw for both exhibitors and spectators.

Finally, Showmanship, Western Horsemanship and Hunt Seat Equitation classes in novice youth, youth, novice amateur and amateur divisions will be dual-approved by NSBA, along with all classes in the National Youth Activity Team Tournament (except Barrel Racing and Reining).
