The MHC IHSA Western Team at their last home show on March 8th, 2014 celebrating their win and advancement to Semi Finals at Findlay University!

To say this season was a close race would be an understatement!  Going into the eighth and last show of the season for Zone 1, Region 3, the point spread was only four points between reigning champs Mount Holyoke College and the University of Connecticut.  There was also only four points between two riders for the Regional High Point Rider.  When the show ended and Mount Holyoke was crowned the Champion team, they knew they had done enough to secure the number one spot for the 4th year in a row! Mount Holyoke is under the guidance of coach Kelli Wainscott of Triple R Ranch in Chesterfield, Mass.

When the Open classes had finished, Emily Murch of Mount Holyoke was announced as the Regional High Point Rider! This means that Emily will be headed to Nationals to compete for the AQHA High Point Rider Trophy among almost 30 other very talented IHSA Open riders.  Emily Messing of the University of Massachusetts was named Reserve Regional High Point Rider.
