Gumby has been shown competitively at open, VHSA and 4-H shows for the past two years winning a show series year end award for Hunter Youth last year and at Quarter Horse shows this summer, picking up circuit championships and AQHA points. Most recently at the Virginia 4H state show he was champion out of 115 enteries in equtation, 6 out of 80 in the hunter pleasure, 2 out of 80 in Hunter Trail, and 4 out of 60 in hunter showmanship. He has been in full time professional training since January, adding showmanship, equitation and a little bit of trail to his skills – he really seems to enjoy the pattern work. He was evented at Beginner Novice (2’9”) and schooled at 3’ by his previous owner. He was also ridden western by his previous owner and has IHBA points. He would make a very cute hunter; he has a nice tight jump and is calm and honest to the fences Gumby stands for farrier and vet, ties to trailer, loads/unloads easily, good ground manners, is good out on the trail, gets along well with other horses. No soundness issues. He has taught my daughter a tremendous amount but she has outgrown him so it is time for him to find another rider; he is a great first horse for a rider moving up from a pony.
